What is You ‘Why’

Many people that start working for themselves have the same goal. Which is being able to make a comfortable living and spending more time with your family. But let’s dig deeper…

  • Will blogging solve my financial strains?
  • Can blog from home benefit my family as far as time management?
  • Why do I really want to blog?

Once you figure out why you really want to blog, your compassion will kick in.

Like for myself, I wanted to blog because I wanted to continue working for myself(I am a licensed cosmetologist). But I wanted not only to work for myself but a Star in my own world. I wanted to speak on matters on a public platform, where the public is coming to me for answers. And for me, a blog does just that and more.

Dedication

Blogging is not a walk in the park. I would be lying if I told you it was easy. But as they say, everything worth having is worth waiting for. (It goes something like that, ha!)

This is a job where you can’t just give up. You have to know your are the CEO of your own brand(blog). You are going to be making the executive decisions and doing all of the work. Unless you hire a virtual assistant.

Consistency

This kind of goes on the lines with dedication. To be consistent you have to be dedicated. You have to tell yourself every day, you got it. I don’t want you to think blogging is soooo freakin’ hard and you need to stick to your 9 to 5 where you are feeling underappreciated. Take baby steps. You don’t have to start a blog today and then make 5 weeks all in the same week and get major traffic coming in. Take baby steps. Start your blog meaning sign up for the hosting platform. This is where the magic happens. You should be completing a to-do list for the week. And make your goals realistic and doable.

Resources That Is Needed To Start A Blog

WordPress.Org

This is very important. Do not set your blog up on wordpress.com. Set your blog up on wordpress.org. This is because the .com site is for people to write posts, but you can not make any money from it, because it is not set up to have hoasting. Hosting is what will put your work out there to be viewed on the internet. You can only make money from setting it up with the .org. The good thing about signing up with Bluehost is the wordpress.org account comes with the Bluehost account. They are integrated and intertwine together beautifully.

Hoasting Platform(Bluehost)

As I mentioned above a hoasting platform is who puts your blog posts out there to the search engines. The search engines are like Google, Bing directories like that.

Start a blog today for only 2.95/month!! You also get
-Free domain (url for your site)
– Free one click install to WordPress.org

Internet

You need the internet to be anything relevant to the internet. I tell everyone every day to check into the Comcast Internet Essentials program. This program is for anyone that is a student or who has children that are students. I mean even if you have a preschooler all the way to someone in college.

If you are not a student or have someone in your household that is, you can still be eligible for this program. If you receive any benefits like social security, food stamps or medical assistance and so on you can qualify. Guess what, only for 10 bucks a month for the internet. Being that my children are students we qualify. I run my whole business off of a $10/month internet/wifi bill.

This also means you can watch free tv using your Roku or firestick. And even set up a home phone service all using Comcast Essentials. Check them out here.
