How To Be Productive With Your Blog During Quarantine

It has been a crazy ride we have all been on huh? 2020 has thrown all of us some curve balls. Like myself, I’m sure your blog slowly started to drift to the back burner. And now that you know this quarantine maybe the new normal for awhile, you need to jump back in there and rescue your baby (blog).

You still with me?

Okay!

So, let’s go on this journey together. This post I’m going to just tell you all the things I have stopped doing and how it has affected my blog. But the moral of the post is How To Be Productive With Your Blog During Quarantine

What Did I Slack On?

Being at home more often now. Not wanting to go out to our normal places with the health crisis that’s going on has left me going a little kray kray sometimes. Lol.

It’s like so much to do. My three kids are home from school and virtual learning was not ideal being their schedules just would overlap for lives and it was just to hectic for me. So I decided to homeschool my children myself. You can see some more of that here.

Add laundry, dishes, business calls and all to the mix my blog started to slowly take a back seat.

(sorry to all my loyal readers that has been missing some true to the heart posts like this one here. This one just takes more time. Which lately I haven’t had.)

So again where have I been slacking?

  1. Writing more long personal posts
  2. Blog Emails
  3. Comments
  4. Marketing on Facebook

How My Blog Productivity Affected My Blog Stats?

Since we are just getting over the holidays my posts are still doing well. I am actually glad that I can leave my blog on autopilot and my traffic comes naturally. That mainly comes from organic traffic that I have gained over 5 million monthly viewers on Pinterest. See my secret to my organic Pinterest traffic here.

So, honestly my stats have not been hurt. They have stayed the same with a huge increase for the holiday with the holiday posts I had pushed out.

But I’m not fully satisfied because my goal has been to increase my stats overall not just for the holidays. So if I had more time to focus on my blog, I would have seen an increase.

How Will I Increase Blog Productivity In The Future?

The plan I use to follow when life was ‘normal’ is not so do-able now. So I’m still finding what works for me. I’m sure these productivity tips will help you as well to get more goals checked off your blog to do list.

  1. Set two days aside for your blog work only
  2. Cram some late night sessions in like a college kid. Work while everyone else is sleep.
  3. If that doesn’t work for you, you can start your day early. Go to bed early. And wake up earlier to get some work done.
  4. Schedule with Tailwind asap (use my code for a discount)
  5. Use Tailwind new Pin Creations. A complete time saver!!
  6. Write out one blog goal a day to accomplish or one big goal for the week
  7. Research some new trending topics
