I’m sure your kids keep you busy with homework, tantrums, errands, bickering and more, right?
And you have this amazing idea to stay at home with them and make a profitable blog.
Some people may give you a side-eye to say you can’t do it.
You may frown upon this as well once you think of how overwhelmed you already are.
But let me tell you, mommy, to mommy you are a supermom. You know that. So let’s get into some mind-blowing tips for managing time in mom and blog life.
People ask me how do I do it, I say “By the grace of God and the strength of a woman.”
Why blogging is a game-changer for moms?
Okay, blogging is for everyone that wants to work for themselves, not just women/moms. But for moms, I think we value this opportunity more. We are nurturers and healers. If one of my children become sick. I can stay home and still not miss time from work. I’m sure a lot of other mothers agree too.Â
As mothers, we naturally wear so many hats a nurse, mom, cook, hairstylist, carpooler, coach, therapist, event planner, and then some. So when you say a mom, all that entangles in it. Right?
So what better way for us to have time to do all those things and still have time to work from home and eventually make more money than your day job.
What should you do?
So, as I said before as moms we wear a lot of hats. So what should you do if you have a load of dishes, dirty clothes to be washed and an active toddler?
MIND BLOWING TIPS (THE LIST)
- Chores at night- Do all of your laundry, dishes when your kids are sleep or when they are at school.
- Have someone else to run your errands
- Meal prep your dinners for your family days in advance
- Give yourself a time limit on how long you will work on your blog. Example: Say I’m going to work tonight from 9pm to 11pm (P.S. That’s reasonable timing)
- Plan out your week on a Sunday- Get a calendar and place it on your wall. Write down any general memos on your calendar but also include your research days and your blogging days (oh and your rest days).
- You can work in your head! Huh? Wait, what? Yes! Think…Brainstorm of different hot new blog topics, the layout of your post and more.
- Download some fun learning apps for free for your kids on your phone. Even the kid friendly YouTube videos will have them glued and learning while your working on your site.
- Do your laundry on select days
- Use a social media scheduler. This will save you from having to post your blog posts manually everyday. Tailwind, Buffer, will not just post for you up to a month in advance. They will also post several times during the day when users are the most active.
- Turn your notifications off
- STAY FOCUSED. SET TIMES TO BLOG AND WORK ON BLOGGING AND THATS IT. NO DISTRACTIONS. WHETER YOUR WRITTING YOUR BLOG POST, RESEARCHING INFO FOR YOUR NEXT BLOG POST.
Quick Tip:
This is an example of my schedule:
Sunday- Draft/Finalize posts (pictures, post, SEO post)
Monday- Schedule 2 posts on all my social media accounts for the whole week using Tailwind
Tuesday- Being that all my content is set to be posting on auto pilot for the rest of the week. I can focus on my future week. Research my next blog topic, the picture that I will make for it using Canva, and the subtitles for the blog post(the layout)
Wednesday- REST but I usually still go through Pinterest on my down time and do some extra manually pinning. The more the merrier.
Thursday- Start finding other blog post on your future blog post. This is the time to take notes.
Friday- Whatever I gathered, I will now start to write my blog posts. I will link my info back to the blog I found the info on. This is great for SEO meaning traffic on your blog and being recognized.
Saturday- Work on my blog post #2. Gather all the info I did on research night and write my second blog post.

I need to start using instagram through tailwind as well. Thanks for the reminder!
No problem. Thank you for the read Julie!
Great tips. I try to be more intentional with my time and always thinking – is what I’m doing worth my time? Sometimes I catch myself perusing social media and I remember – time to get off! I’m wasting time. Mental acuity is important when there’s so much stuff to get done.
Yes, it is so hardworking online and not to get sidetracked by the social media feeds. There needs to be an app to block the feeds to your visible view. Haha! Thanks for stopping by.
I’ve been shutting off notifications. I found I was getting so distracted by everything that kept dinging or popping up on my screen. I also try to do everything business-related when my daughter’s at daycare 🙂
Oh, how I can relate. I cram everything into school hours or after bedtime.
This is such a great topic. It’s so hard to balance SAHM mom life with the side hustle and I love the “work in your head” tip! Truth!
Thanks Jamie. Yes the struggle of both is truly real. Lol.
These are great tips! I think I need a better planner system to plan out my week, but I do try to stay focused on blogging only during my blogging time blocks. It’s been so helpful to have focused times to work.
Thank you very much. I love planners. They are the key to success lol. Have a great day.
Absolutely turn your notifications off on your phone! So distracting and it can ruin beautiful moments with your family and if you’re in the middle of brainstorming a great idea for your blog!
That’s a great tip as well. It’s so frustrating at times. Thanks for stopping by.
Man, my life changed when I started planning out my weeks Monday morning. Thanks for the tips!
