And one of the mistakes that I made like others, was I would skip pass what I thought was too complicated. I thought I can put this and SEO on the back burner till later on.

Welp, that was not a good move on my end. I had a beautiful blog, a couple trending topics but still no subscribers. So, in then doing my research after a year of trying to be opt in free. I came right back to where I started.

Okay enough of me babbling on. You need to get to the good stuff. What are opt ins? Opt ins are FREE offers that you offer to readers.

How Do Opt-ins Work?

Opt-in forms or offers work like this.

  1. Think about your audience and what they may need and want
  2. Make the opt-in relevant to the post. Example: If you have a post on amazing food ideas for the family. You do not want a freebie to be offered saying get a free makeup checklist. Let it match the current topic. Tip: If you have a blog just focused on one topic. You can make one freebie for the whole blog. Example: If you have a blog about newborns and toddlers. A freebie that could be offered no matter the post is a broad freebie. This freebie should be beneficial to your reader.
  3. The reader will add their name and email in the opt-in form to obtain their name and email.
  4. Gold mine!! Now you have their email. Send them their freebie through an email. I use Mailerlite. ( You can make the forms here as well.)
  5. Now, you will keep their email your subscribers and send them emails when you have a new post or want to promote a product.
