13 by a 9-inch baking sheet or parchment paper
Wooden spatula
Microwave safe bowl
Craft Sticks
Instructions
Prep the apples. Rinse the apples with lukewarm water then dry them completely. It is important to remove as much of the slippery wax coating from the apples. Remove the apple stem and place a craft stick in the apple about 3/4 within the apple.
Prepare to rest the apples. Line a baking sheet with a silicone baking mat for best results. Alternatively, line a 13 by 9 in a baking sheet of parchment paper. Spray it with non-stick cooking spray and set it in the fridge.
Add the caramels and heavy cream to the bowl. Place the ingredients into a microwave-safe bowl.
Melt in the microwave. Heat in 30-second increments, stirring well between intervals. Repeat these steps until it is melted and smooth. This can take about 2-3 minutes. Tip: If it is extra runny let it cool so the caramel does not run off the apple.
Dip the apples. Dip the apples one at a time at an angle (90-degree angle preferred), roll and lift. Now the apples on the bottom side onto the baking sheet. If needed, reheat the caramel for 15-second increments for a more dippable consistency.
Let the caramel set in the fridge. Allow the caramel to set on the apples for 30 minutes in the fridge completely. Note: You can absolutely, eat the apples prior to the 30 mins, however, the caramel will be messier and not set. You can also slice the apples after 30 mins.
Notes
Let excess caramel runoff, then run bottom of apple along the inside of the bowl to remove excess caramel.
